What is bad to drive gas fuel

Fans of gas fuel (talking about propane-butane LPG mixtures) are eagerly ready to talk about its advantages over other types of fuel. The main argument “for” is obvious: today gas prices are about one and a half times lower than gasoline-diesel (when comparing prices per liter — do not forget that at the same power the engine consumes LPG by mass about 25% more than gasoline).

However, an iceberg is not only its protruding crown. And if you look deeper, the following arguments “against gas” will run:

Check in. The “Bought and Installed” mode does not work today: the owner of a car converted for gas will have to go to instances that must legitimize his rework. And this is time, nerves and money.

It is not worth it. Of course, the transition to cheaper fuel should justify itself financially. But this happens only when a solid car runs — for example, in taxi mode. Summer resident, who several times a year goes back and forth, will never stop costs.

Do not sell! When you want to part with the car, you will immediately see: there are no people willing to buy it for good money. And do not try to twist the odometer: everyone understands that the “gas” car was driven all its life into the tail and into the mane, and therefore its mileage cannot be small. Shooting gas equipment before the sale is also stupid: traces always remain. And today it is simply meaningless: according to the documents, it is already listed as converted for gas! So reduce the price — and much!

Ruin the engine. No matter what the lovers of gas fuel say, our experience shows that in the engine, which has been converted to gas, the seats and valve plates are burning. Get ready to repair! And this is not fiction — there is a technical solution to the problem in the form of a dispenser, which supplies a special additive to the gas-air mixture, which prevents the valves from burning out, but this is quite an expensive pleasure. Ancient engines with a low compression ratio worked on gas without burning out valves without such tricks — but their times were long gone (and they only accidentally stayed at every Gazelle Classic), and modern engines, after conversion to gas, will most likely die quickly.

No refills. Of course, there are gas stations, but there are so few of them that they are not there. And if the owner of a gasoline car always has a choice, where and how much to refuel, then the owner of a gas car has no freedom of action.

Stink All gas cars, sorry, stink. Even if their owners have a different opinion.

Parking lots. You will never be allowed to enter any decent underground parking — and they will do it right. Propane-butane likes to accumulate somewhere below, and this is fraught with disaster.

Warranty. A car converted for gas will lose its warranty on many components and assemblies. As a result, mainly non-new cars are transferred to gas, which have already been pretty well traveled and podubity. They, of course, are not so pitiful — but they can fall apart before they pay for the installation of HBO.

The trunk. You will no longer have a normal trunk: a huge cylinder will settle in it. From now on, the luggage will carry in the cabin … Well, or go without a spare wheel, but with a toroidal balloon.

Explosive. In a good way, a gas cylinder must be placed outside the volume of the machine — so that the gas leak cannot accumulate in the cabin, but immediately spread in the surrounding air. But for the vast majority of passenger cars such an installation is impossible. So, your car will soon receive an original design of this type:

I know that it is beautiful — but it will be successful if you are not in the cabin.
